In a rain affected match, Dominica lost on 1st innings in their second match of the 2019 Windward Islands Senior Men’s Tournament against St. Vincent in St. Vincent at the Park Hill Playing Field. Batting first, Dominica scored 201 all out with Kevin James top scoring with 67 from 94 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Kershaski Jno Lewis and Tahj Tavernier scored 25 runs each and Jerlani Robinson contributed with 28.

Kenneth Dember was the main destroyer with 5 for 59 in 23.3 overs with 8 maidens. Darius Martin took 3 for 25 in 10 overs and Asif Hooper and Keron Cottoy had 1 wicket each.

St. Vincent scored 206 for 4 when the match was declared a draw with Desron Maloney getting a brilliant knock of 104 with 16 fours and 1 six. West Indies batsman, Sunil Ambris got 66 with Romano Pierre and Dillon Douglas getting 17 and 13 runs respectively. Vincent Lewis, Kevin James, Kershaski Jno Lewis and Liam Sebastien got 1 wicket each.

Dominica next match will be against St. Lucia from Tuesday April 9 at the Cumberland Playing Field.

23 players has been selected to a training squad to prepare for the 2019 Windward Islands Senior Men’s Tournament to be held in St. Vincent from April 2nd to April 11th 2019. The tournament will be a 2-day format unlike in 2018 where a 50 over competition was held in St. Lucia.

Dominica won the Windward Islands 50 over competition last  year in St. Lucia captained by Tyrone Theophille and will be looking forward to repeat its performance in this year’s tournament. The management team will include Mr. Mervin Thomas and Mr. Geoff Pierre as Coach and Manager respectively.
